When it comes to the human body, so many things can go wrong! Viruses, pollution, bacteria, bad food, smoke, can bring on an endless array of disease and dysfunction. What should we do to survive this aging process? There is no problem in this present day, to access a myriad of knowledge through technology. We are all hooked up pretty much from morning ‘til night. We can “look it up” so easily! So why is it that if we know better, we don’t do better? Ok…you can try, but that usually leads to a lot of frustration, self-shaming, and overwhelm. Add the daily problems of life; you get a vicious cycle of stress and health problems.
The more years that go by, the more I have come to realize that all my health problems could be so much worse! I have come to appreciate every hour of sleep. I thank God for every hour I am pain free. As I move through my life’s journey, I have discovered the power of prayer and trust. I kept hearing the world telling me….”you have to do this, or you can’t do that”. God showed me several times in my life, I am NOT in control. No one is perfect. No one is in control.
So how do you navigate the next phase of your life? For me, I took time to reflect, read, pray and meditate. I am writing this today, because writing is my creative outlet. It helps me clear my mind. It allows in new direction and perspective. I know God has provided me this gift to help others find their gifts. He has helped me to see spending my precious time with Him, provides me access to these gifts. These gifts await all of us. This time is not a luxury, it’s a necessity!
The world is in a task-addicted, technology overloaded state. If you want to have more peace, freedom, health and joy, you must claim back your time. Access your gifts; feed that space in your brain, body, and spirit. If you can shift from the “busy brain” to the quiet comfort of prayer, gratitude and enjoyment, you will receive your gifts. For me, my gifts are providing peace, healing and love.
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
